If the members of the US congress against the US Climate Change Bill were given the offer they would! I find it alarming that lobbyists and PR can force the US congressmen to scale back their plans for climate change legislation. Any compromise will sevely undermine US efforts to move away from coal and oil and cap carbon emissions. Surprise surprise that the oil, gas and coal industry has increased its lobbying budget by 50%, spending £30m in the first three months of this year to try to influence legislation. Making it very difficult for the US to be seen as the pattern setter for what needs to happen in Copenhagen in December this year!
