After reading the article about schools charging illegally for admission (12th March), I have a few comments to make.

The present failure of the government's plan to give any and every young person school choice and access to better educational experiences dramatises the importance of OFP's new school system.

OFP's system does away with the present system's fundamental flaw, namely the classroom with its teacher-centred focus.

As long as the way to a good educational experience is to make sure your child is in a classroom which excludes less desirable students so that the teacher can comfortably function without having to deal with poorly prepared students, there will be an overwhelming desire for parents to get their children into the 'right' school, which will lead their offspring into the right classroom.

The solution to this is described on this site in its account of the student-centred system (see Projects). This system abandons the classroom and thus all the problems associated with it.
