Money isn’t everything but it’s far ahead of anything else when it comes to destroying our planet
Copenhagen and its collapse as a procedure, where the world’s nations agree to save its nations and our planet’s citizens from deadly disaster, clearly demonstrates money’s deadly power.
Our world leaders, starting with President Obama and his mandate from the US citizens who elected him, are powerless without action by US Congressmen. US Congressmen are the de facto employees of US energy companies and other big business money interest, lobbyists being the middle men passing on (or not passing on) the huge sums businesses will pay to protect their income and high salaries. Businesses will justify their bribery of politicians as necessary in order for them to contend with their competitors. Indeed, global warming can be seen as a side effect of competition between corporations as well as between nations.
Copenhagen’s collapse demonstrates this scenario clearly. Now there’s talk that nothing will be decided (i.e., business as usual) and indeed one or more years will be needed to decide anything, as if anything will change in a year or two or three, except ice will melt and seas will rise and the planet’s poorest citizens, who have the least ability to adjust to climate change effects, will live shorter lives and suffer most.
What are we to do? First recognise precisely what’s going on in our present planet and become citizens of Our Future Planet (OFP) and then operate in cooperative ways to save all our skins, and as well as our children and grand-children’s, who have no voice.
